Deep in my heart I knew it would end Who was I kidding? I want you more than a friend, Years ago that would have been fine But back then you didn’t really want to be mine, Now we are talking a decade along, Where I have a family and thought you too had moved on, Yet I’ve found you regretting that missed chance we had, A feeling I share of course and that’s what’s so sad, My words have since flowed as they still hold true And again I find myself loving you, It aches me to know your feelings - all too late, Bad timing or what? We’ll just call it fate, Therefore my heart breaks as I walk away from you But painfully I know it’s what I must do. AW |

i know how much this situation hurts, i really do, pallie. but at least you made the right decision.  there's a lot of raw emotion in this. and i can see untapped potential too. i always like that in a write. it means i can't wait for more. welcome to pip. The soul is oftentimes a battlefield where reason and judgement wage war on passion and appetite. |

Thank you for all your kind comments. I'm working on a more contemporary verse, but don't know how it will go down with you all over the water...eek! Hopefully, I'll have some brighter stuff after I get this all out. Abenax |
