       Autumn Passing

(the "Deep-Time" kaleidoscope
  of light, matter, motion,
   and change)

Above…

Worlds are drifting
in the cosmic void,
as trackless clouds dance
through fields of stars
and perfect moonlight,
in an endless sky.

Below…

The mountains are melting
   rainbows,
as flaming red leaves
fill the clear-crystal pond,
and blaze in pyres along
  its shore.

For this wondrous moment,
the wind and her hair
carry a fragrant hint
of fleeting-Autumn
  incense.

All is passing so quickly,
to the bitter chill of winter’s
  sorrow,
with the only ‘certainty’…
of eternal flux and
  infinite change.

              ~

Autumn is my favorite time-space on the kaleidoscope of life's continuum.

The Greeks had a word for poetry this fine: areté, maning "excellence." One of the greatest compliments one could hear was that one's technia (art) was "areté". This artwork is as perfect as art gets.

Just checking this link, it seems to be fine. I agree with JWesley, Poet... You know I post replies to all your writes, but I do read them much more often than you know. And what a pleasure they are to read!
