I'm not the first to get it wrong
And I won't be the last
So do not judge me harshly
When you hear tales from my past

There are bound to be those who say
" I told him it would end this way "
As they gleefully relate
My occasional mistakes

So if I should have but one regret
Then it would have to be
That they are not lying here
Looking up at me!

Yes very clever…. I am sure we all have  closet’s full of mistakes.. with the occasional close call.
I would have put this in the category “Tales from the Grave” which would make a very good poetry thread as against the usual epitaph ones….

I enjoyed your poem Effjayel, but always remember things are never as bad as they seem. Keep your chin up and take care.
