For you,  with love….Bub

OH, my brother,  how large and huge you are.
Though once in my life I stood over you,  old
Enough to take your hand and guide you.

Old enough to call you by name and see your
Smile looking back at me from a round but
Pleasant face with your ears daring me to pinch
One,  to pull one.

Old enough to take from you that which you ate,
Causing a ruckus beyond belief,  so terribly loud
Were your cries of anger and disbelief.

But, dear brother…there were countless days when
Boys played boys games,  when Indians stalked
The night for the campfire of our imaginations and
Children scurried in the darkness attempting to find
Home base before getting caught.

And yes,  for whatever reason,  I was built to run
Like the wind while you were designed to be a
Stone pillar,  a rock of Gibraltar…standing watch
Over me when I became much older and needed
You there,  to stand beside me and hold a brother’s
Hand,  for I am your brother as you are mine…and
I love you dear brother…for all eternity’s time.

Thanx,  you can't count the number of tissues
I needed to complete this.

Think I could come close to counting the tissues my friend...I know how many I use sometimes....and this is one of those 'sometimes' pieces that keep the tissue business going....

Very, very fine write Mr. M.

wonderful writing, Barry...

My brothers all live a distance from me, making the relationships harder to  have those close feelings..

But my sister and I were very close.

Okay, okay ... it melted me~

Brothers are such a comfort ... mine has a birth-of-day coming up on Wednesday, July 25, and the family is taking him out to the river for dining tonight~

Happy Birthday to yours ... and mine~
