At some point unannounced and unnoticed to slip
past a threshold wherein only silence ensues.
There to dwell for a time in the sorrowful grip
of someone who has found they're bereft of their muse.

All the words in the world do not utter a sound
that would seem to be worthy of putting to pen.
In those few one would try dissappointment is found
and frustration encountered again and again.

When the days turn to weeks and all hope fades away
as your better attempts still ring false and contrived,
the big question you ask's the inevitable one,
"For what purpose all this, to what ends do we strive?"

Then perhaps in the asking awakens a voice
that the ends matter not if you've made this your choice.

Dear Doc

I was going to echo with my own roads of searching for my muse...but on reading again I noticed that in the act of looking, you found.

So lovely ironic! Amazing when art and expression are the source of more art and expression =)

Dear Martie,
Thanks for the reply, sorry for the delay. I seem to have drifted further away of late, can't seem to put my finger on a reason, just going with the flow I guess. Thanks again.
Doc

Dear Pops,
How true. Thank you for your kind reply.
