Repost:

Twilight Morning

I watched the toast, toast brown today
The butter as it melted away
Poured the coffee just half a cup
With cream and sugar filled it up

Took the paper read the headlines
Something about the aquiline
The water level down to low
It was a fact that we should know

Beware of our water use
Just use it but without abuse
Some other articles on crime
For they were there most the time

I tossed the paper to one side
When to my lounge where I abide
I sat and stretched to wile a while
Before I knew I smiled a smile

For there she was my butterfly
Flapping her wings sighing a sigh
She took my hand in fantasy
Into a gardens ecstasy

She waits for me both night and day
Each nap I take she’s there to play
One could say I’m growing old
To me she is my center fold

So more and more I close my eyes
To hereby, nearby, butterflies.

I started my day with you - I think I'll bypass the paper and just enjoy the beauty of your poetry.  I can think of no better way to begin a lovely day.

Thank you and I have missed you.

Sy,
Well dear friend it's nice to know that you can still dream! Fun write. Thanks for sharing.

I arrived late Sir Sy
and yet your butterfly flapped her wings in Florida
and stirred my heart
deep in the desert

I see your poetry is still making all the ladies hearts flutter...and a few of the men too from the look of it. I know it makes my heart flutter but then I have seen your etchings.

Nice write, thoroughly enjoyed it, I can see we are not the only ones who are short on water.
