Filigreed frost
etched on glass pane,
Snow birds are singing
in wint'ry refrain,
Brisk is the color
of fresh-fallen snow,
Acorns are hidden
entombed just below.
Shadow's are icy
in dawn's first appear,
Proud oaks once regal,
now shiver austere,
In the garden no taste
of melon or grape,
The tongue it knows only
of land's frozen scape,
Out in the meadow,
lies burrow dug deep
In wait for spring's wakening
curls vixen asleep,
While back on the window,
iced drawings embossed,
Cede to the warming,
of morning's accost.

Enjoyed your snow-filled write although I can't even imagine living with such weather.
