A crown of sonnets or sonnet corona is a sequence of sonnets usually addressed to some one person, and/or concerned with a single theme.  Each of the sonnets explores one aspect of the theme, and is linked to the preceding and succeeding sonnets by repeating the final line of the preceding sonnet as its first line, and by having its final line be the first line of the succeeding sonnet. With seven sonnets, the first line of the first sonnet is repeated as the final line of the final sonnet, thereby bringing the sequence to a close. This Crown of Sonnets, is dedicated and presented to someone very special. Seven facets of a precious gem reflecting the glow in my heart.

        “The Star-Crossed”
       (Crown of Sonnets #4)

I thank my soulmate friend with all my heart,
for love and understanding shared with me.
Whenever we are near or far apart
our kindred souls embrace eternally.

When star-crossed lovers’ sadness rule the air
and things that cannot change there come to fore,
I count the blessings that I have to share
and cherish love that binds us all the more.

Yet, now if this was all that we could get,
I know that even still I’d have it so.
To share the love we can without regret
is quite enough and will sustain the glow.

Now and forever bound by chance and choice,
The comfort of her love makes me rejoice.

How important two little words...

thank you can be...

and on to five...

[remembering that this is a corona of seven!]

The perfect closing couplet to #4

"Now and forever bound by chance and choice,
The comfort of her love makes me rejoice."

Your writing is exquisite and keeps me reading on! Not to mention, I'm learning how to write a "Crown of Sonnets" as I go!

Number 5 is in my sights! Onward!

btw, Good morning, Kenneth!

All of you dear friends…
My grateful appreciation to all of you kindred spirits
who so graciously responded to the “Crown of Sonnets”.
The aura of your glow warmed my soul and your kind words
of encouragement touched upon my heart.
This humble poet thanks you most sincerely.
