Not Time nor Tide

Time like Tide, or so they say,
can wash all trace of things away.
But Time cannot wash from my heart
the aching left when some depart.

No Tide that washed upon the shore
could cleanse the wounds that time has bore.
The pain of loss of those held dear,
not Tide nor Time can disappear.

Yet with the ache, resides a love
that transcends all and flies above
erosion caused by Time and Tide,
in unison with those who’ve died.

So pain and loss go hand in hand
with love and comfort as we stand
alone, together, close but far,
for everywhere is where we are.

Time and Tide, or so they say,
can wash all trace of things away.
But Time nor Tide can keep apart
those Souls who share a common heart.

It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

You speak a truth and beautifully so!

Healing comes when we are aware of the soul connection that goes on, but the desire of a caress, a touch, is always present, for we still are here in this physical world.

Love,

Your poem reminded me of one I wrote about the death of my daughter many years ago.  I trust you won't mind me repeating part of it here. Thank you for the thoughts your poem gave me.

Fly my little one;
be free from this need of mine
that roots you to a mountain ...
for I will find you again,
when time melts into tomorrow,
still and always
in the middle of my love.

Time or Tide waits for NO MAN
Is the saying I have heard?
But you’re my Bigger Brother
So I'll just take you’re word
Life goes on regardless...
Sometimes there is pain...
We are in a mixed up world
...But in it all the same.

Strange I should read this with the news I just got .... my last sub    Eric

Excellent verse.  Great write.
