He shook the skins that bound him tight
he took a bundle from his back
and dropped it sure upon the stone
and pulled them crusted from his bones
as he piled the pieces high
gold from countries of rumor
gloried by the heads of Rome
and some faces were unknown
but they glittered as the same
he placed them on the table
safe
next to his broadsword...

There was twine about his feet
that held the fur and he brought meat
freshly killed from whence he came
dripping blood from off his back
he offered up his bonding fee
nodding, "put this prompt upon the spit"
weary of the kill.

Your man may be lacking in social graces ~ but at least he brings home the bacon and puts meat on the table! lol

A powerful poem!

grin--I don't own the man.

And the fact that I don't claim ownership annoys him to no end!

This one? Was for a mad viking. Sadly, I can't take him anywhere either. *pout*

The one I live with brings home beads.

Happy V-Day Nance!

And if you think yer confused?

thanks for reading
