The Sun Trilogy, Part I

Autumn Sun

The wind howls in fright,
As darkened skies cloak the sun.
Winter's wrath threatens.

The sun slinks away
--Ashamed by its dimming light--
Saving strength for spring.

I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran

Thanks, Marge!

I worked hard on this theme to make the "trilogy" flow properly.  I'm glad that you liked part I...

John, I felt the grey skies, the darkness, and even the cold...maybe cuz I was just outside?  Just kidding...this was indeed an imprint on the readers mind.

Now, you knew well that I would gravitate towards your poems....

and these have enforced the need for me to write a poem that has been swirling around in my head.  Thank you for the kick!

Thanks, LeeJ.

I was hoping to invoke some vivid imagery.  I'm glad that you enjoyed my little solar works.
