When Balladeer was ten years old,
He thought he had it made,
He'd finally completed
Three years in second grade.

His life was always kind of sad,
His weight-his looks and clothes
Last one picked on baseball teams,
First to pick his nose.

When he turned twelve a child was born,
Toerag was his name,
A special kind of baby boy,
With a penis AND a brain.

Now Toe grew up quite popular,
A boy with looks and charm,
Cared for those less fortunate,
Protecting them from harm.

When Toe turned twelve and graduated
From a college way back east,
He heard of Balladeer the scorned,
Whom everyone had teased.

'Deer was bussing tables,
At "Al Sharpton's House of Soul"
Making less than legal wage
And had no place to go.

Toe took Balladeer,
Beneath his caring wing,
Taught him to write poetry,
Then taught him how to sing.

He soon became an expert
Sang at church and then on stage
He wrote a book of poetry
With delight on every page.

Toe got him on a talent show
Where he had no chance of 'losin'
He's now an American Idol,
And he's changed his name to Ruben.

Hi, Toe! A special child, indeed! I didn't realize that males came with both body parts?!? Many men seem to have lost one of those organs and retained the other one in all its glory! lol

You and your witty ditties have been missed!

Lovin' hug 4 U, Bama Man!

S2 is hilarious. I usually don't like rhyming in poems but yours is fresh. You have a lot of skill, good work.

And I said to the devil, "You better leave my spleen alone."

I like Earth Angels reply about the male body parts. I guess you must have a soft side to you, after all.

Toe darling man, I really am here not enough I love this and it made me laugh muchly.

You really do have an amazing talent, love the flow, it is simply divine. Sorry I’m not here more, but life always seems to get in the way, university, being a wife, forging links with both our families, it all takes time, and there is so little of it these days. Still whenever I do get a few moments, and I can sit without either being sick or too much pain I pop in and flit in and out the poetry. A bit like a butterfly sipping poetic nectar when I can. Always a real pleasure to read You darling one, for your words are always something special. And this is a real gem

Love and warm stuff
as always

Oh good heavens... I haven't been here in almost a year, but got back just in time to find a gem from ToeRag!! Talk about great timing!
Toe - I'm not having a good day. There isn't much to make me laugh lately - and then here you are crackin' me up!
I'm sure Balladeer will have a comeback ready in no time... I'll be back! LOL
Good to see you here again, dear one!

Good grief...the bad penny returns. Last I heard, they were holding the next Survivor series in your bathroom but opted for the Australian outback since it was safer.

Don't worry, lugnut. Your crown is secure and you will always be the true American Idle....and, no, Donald Trump does not want you, either!
