.

Fog
Moves slowly
Through the small city

Everywhere
In shrouded neighborhoods
The mood is faintly white

As if the past
Had come to visit
Dressed in lambent mist

To see and sigh
Before they go

John~
This is about as pretty a read as I'll find this day~

I adore the thought of your 'lambent mist'~

Huge *sighs* over the sheer beauty of these thoughts~

and to think I slept through it.

lambent

One of my very favorite words.

And yet again, John, you dazzle me with your simplicity. Your writing ability has never been a question for me. You happen to be one of my favorite poets here.

Very much enjoyed.

Very lovely, almost misty in its presentation.

Thank you all

I'm glad you like what was almost lost
as I had forgotten about and only came
upon it by accident scrolling through
a wholly unrelated file in my PC
at the office.

Thanks again
Very much

Hi John...you are indeed a word artist..without all the words that I seem to need, you paint.

How happy I am that Marge gave me a heads-up to this one or I'd have missed this gem.  I could feel the morning fog creeping along in your lines.

Men are supposed to take a certain attitude when talking about other men's poetry....well, yonder clasts another icon, I guess....this is gentle and good, and yes as our friend Marge said already, it's pretty...and I will say so.

This is delicate, like a flower in its presentation.  I think that's what I like most about your poetry, the way it's almost a watercolor.

Oh yes... you are simply amazing the way you paint a magnificent picture in my eyes with so few words needed to do so. Your pen is also a paintbrush.

Thank you all again,

I am really surprised at the reponse
to this

It suggests a mere flute
must always subordinate itself
to the music, even while not knowing
the origin of the sounds.

Thanks all again

John
