The Doves Sonnet

The trust I give these days is without fear
And winters bite has lost its chill to me
That crystal on my cheek is not a tear
Although the glint may speak of hidden glee

I heard the pain you spoke for all those years
And wondered at the inner strength you had
I hope that your new path be filled with cheer
And forks or bends don’t ever make you sad

On balcony we stood above the crowd
And talked about this feeling in our hearts
The shock that we could say these thoughts out loud
As if these years were moments just apart

In you I feel the freeing of the doves
As I was wind and welcomed you with love.

Surely, it must be like that.

I find some solace in your words and pray that you do too.

A most exquisite write.
It's so good to read you again!

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

Dg.. thanks for stopping by.
But that also sounds like your not writing much either, or keeping it all to yourself.

Treating each moment as if....
Your songbird has been missing from these blue skies for too long, dear Parker. This piece soulfully sings a sweet sad cooing above the gentle whooshing sound of a dove in flight.
