on tiptoe knuckles I kneel there
in the warmth of oozing mud
where my eyes are pocketed quiet
between the hidden boards
of cedars still untouched

in a baptist jeans and sandals
with my locust's belt buckle
and hawaiian shirt mantle
I recite the metal prophesy
of pipeline with teeth clicks

and strum the sticky bosom
of the cigar store venus
carved from plastic walnut
by sixpacks of luke warm corona
and the hands of time's blindness

there are gum wrappers on the floor
popping their bubbles with their teeth
and selling cars to dui guys with no jobs
while holding their bellies in flat
in case a lovely nun notices

and has a craving for used saliva
