What's vital to most anything that stands the test of time
is how it's anchored into place, or , it ain't worth a dime.
While logic states, on slippery slopes, a good foundation's best
I'm apt to build on roller-skates so downhill does the rest.

Upon arrival at my stop, entangled in the ruins,
I call my buddy Andrew Scott the " Left Coast Looney Toone "
who comes up with a master plan involving crayons and glue
and pretty soon we're back on top foundation #2.

You see we have spared no expense our construct fairly gleams
with multicolored roofing tiles and wax extruded seams.
She stands in all her glory high atop Dumbfounded Peak,
while I take oil can to wheels to make sure they don't squeak.

Not ever one to pay much heed to writing on the wall,
I am however quite astute at heading for a fall,
so take this helmet "Crayon King" an' trade it for your crown,
that valley's either coming up, or man, we're going down !

They say the Earth did shake that day with such a seismic thump
that everyone with bad hair prayed, including Mr. Trump,
an' thought that they'd be better off to just go buy a wig
compared to Krakatoa, I mean we are talking " Big "!

So when the dust has settled in about a billion years,
An' my head ain't stuck up my butt a'coverin' my ears
perhaps ol' buddy Drew will see this poem an' give a shout,
or better yet not wait that long to help me pull it out ?

Version 2.0

Though Andrew hasn't found us yet, there is this birthday guy,
an' even where my head is at Ms. Sunshine has dropped by
so from this pile of rubble like a phoenix with no head
my literary talents like manure I will spread.

Did I say little consequence would follow where I go?
She really needs to get a life, the voices told me so.
I heard them on the internet before all hell broke loose
and I became, how do you say, one rather ---- faced moose !

But, be that as it were m'friends let's get back to ol' Sy,
they say the party never ends when you hang with this guy,
one look at him an' you can tell( oh wait, I still can't see)
so have a happy birthday Sy, just don't end up like me.

When parties get to rockin' things might often start to roll,
an' then before you know it , it's high time to pay the toll
although I'm pretty sure that such a notion is all wet
your head might take the same route where mine found that it could get!

Dear Sunshine, many thank yous, it's so nice that you've dropped by,
please excuse me if I mumble, but it ain't hard to tell why,
I'm talkin' like you told me though it may not sound too clear.
If anyone sees Andrew, tell him, " get me out of here!"

Keep on talking, Doc.  It's been
quite a while since all that fun.

Let me see, whose doors can I knock on.

Oh, I know, I know!!
