All Those Castles

All those castles I thought would stand
Dissolved beneath a times quick sand
An under- tow of oceans flow
Seems to be the changing woe

I know now that they could not last
Those young impressions of the past
The feeling that no harm can come
This gift of life I had become

Too soon I heard the pipers dance
And sat a horse with pointed lance
Pounding down a time worn lane
With feelings of inane insane

Incompetence and changing prime
Peeled away by acids time
Aged me to a fossils crone
A wily bag of skin and bone

And now I stern a skin of thick
With nothing burning but the wick

nahhhh, anyone who can write poetry, rhyme, as you do sir, dreams on....there is a flame burning deep within...anyone who reads you, sees you...

Morning Sy...loved this, facts of life, sometimes all to true...and yet, can see the visible thru each and every word, the masterful wisdom, you've inherited...

Hugs

It reminds me of a song by Metallica

Castle crumble to the ground
where's you crown king Nothing?

something like that anyway

I think maybe that is what they were trying to get accross..

It's nice to know that the sheer delight of using the English Language, that is so prominent as in your words, has continued to flourish across the divide!

You are a true wordsmith...

Sy, with your talent...your wick will never burn out.  As for the skin & bones, I doubt it!
