Sleep eludes me
these early mornings
and most days
I watch them become
early afternoons
with no sign of rain.

Just once,
I wish,
just once it would begin
raining when I wouldn't miss it.

How good that would feel
like fingers lightly, slowly
running through my hair

where I would drift off into slumber
with more than thoughts
to hold me warm.

My heart aches for you
and for just one early morning
that carries a gentle storm.

She lay there in gentle sleep, softly the rain fell, sleep bringing her dreams and a smile to her face. I watched, happy to share moments with the soothing chore of rain drops and the presence of beauty. Today was a good day.

Dear Dixie, again enjoyed the read my friend, have a terrific day.

I am glad you are still here -- who else would feed my Dixie addiction.

This is so lovely ... thank you.

I can feel the emotion in this write;
like the building of a gentle storm.
Great write...
