Koln Concert Reverie

He pounds the keys, hitting deep inside

bringing me to my knees
in a fetal centering,
begging for more please,
more please

as evocative trills sublimely cascade
down the heart-walls,
enraptured ears hear celestial notes
rarely conceived by earthlings.

Then he leaves me
in profound silence;
lingering notes dangling in mid air
like some dove or hang-glider
sensing a moment of magnificence.

I escape
the confines of earth,
soar high in the skies
beyond the reach of all
the mud and mundane machinations
humans wrap themselve up with
before turning out the night-light,
believing

all is well

as the globe spins itself
faster and faster
toward
Hell.

Is it any wonder
I choose to wrap myself tight
in a cocoon of musical musings each night?

*thanking Keith Jarrett*

I was captivated by the beauty of your expression - the intensity of the writing - and how wonderfully you wove it all together.

Wonderful!

This is REALLY ‘good stuff’!:

“evocative trills sublimely cascade
down the heart-walls”;

“... notes dangling in mid air...
sensing a moment of magnificence.”;

“I escape
the confines of earth…
beyond the reach of all
the mud and mundane
    machinations”

serious, sustained applause!

I really like this poem, specially this stanza!!!!

"I escape
the confines of earth,
soar high in the skies
beyond the reach of all
the mud and mundane machinations
humans wrap themselve up with
before turning out the night-light,
believing"

THANK YOU, dear poet friends!
I listened to Keith Jarrett's CD today (for about the thousandth time) and was once again transported to another realm.
