Poem Back From 1998

If you must ask me my answer would be no;
Love cannot cloak the spinning of its wheel
We may not mask the ways we feel;
Ask all the poets, they would tell you so.

Why does the theory hold such fascination?
Love is a concept that needs no explanation.
One might as well ask why seeds should grow;
So ask me to explain, my answer would be no.

Your inquisitions must come to an end;
Your silly search for logic should stop.
In time all broken hearts may mend;
Why treat it as a token from a corner shop?

One cannot buy love, and never sell love;
Ignore the world of scientific concern.
Some see it as a gift from below, not above;
Yet infants can love, without having to learn.

Accept this fact: You are out of your depth
In a mystery not even Holmes could solve.
I view my response without much regret;
Love is eternal, even should we evolve.

Why question the path the arrow takes;
Why shatter the ideal moment so?
Why starve the garden a lover makes?
So if you must ask me, my answer would be no.

Poetry is just the evidence of life.
If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. "
Leon Cohen~

Your answer is in the passive ...

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
