The Family Circle

What a lovely engagement party,
I don’t remember ever laughing so much
...or being so happy.
I do adore you George,
Let us never forget to laugh and love.
Here comes the bride,
How wonderful…our very own home.
You’re working so hard darling,
I know! With a baby on the way we need the money,
It’s time I think to pick up the midwife George.
Don’t worry my love, everything is going to be fine.
A boy! A lovely boy with all his fingers and toes,
Oh! He’s so beautiful George…Thank you.

Georgie has a tooth,
Georgie walked,
Happy first birthday Georgie,
Oh good heavens Georgie does chatter a lot.
No Georgie you cannot have a pony,
Look at that nasty cut, so close to your eye,
Poppa says the scar will give you character.
No Georgie you cannot have twenty to your birthday party
…six only.
What a lovely Christmas we all had,
Hark the Herald Angels sing…
Poppa’s very sick Georgie we have to be prepared.

You are the man of the house now son,
How blessed I am to have you.
I miss your Poppa very much Georgie,
You think you are in love?
Tell me all about her,
Emmy Sue and she’s new in town, I must meet her.
What a delightful young lady,
Yes Georgie a big engagment party would be very nice.

Georgie I don’t want you to go war, I can’t lose you,
You are leaving ~ in four weeks?
So soon...too soon.
Yes Georgie I give you and Emmy Sue my blessings,
Dear Georgie I have moved Emmy Sue in with me,
You are going to be a father…isn’t that exciting.
Hope you are alright my dearest son,
We haven’t heard from you in so long.
I am in so much pain from my losses,
But I will be strong for Emmy Sue,
And the baby due in three weeks.
We have lain you next to Poppa my son
God be with you.

A boy, such a beautiful boy,
Thank you Georgie.
A boy! A lovely boy with all his fingers and toes,
Georgie has a tooth,
Georgie walked,
Happy first birthday Georgie,
Oh good heavens Georgie does chatter a lot.
No Georgie you cannot have a bicycle,
Look at that nasty cut, so close to your eye,
Momma says the scar will give you character.
No Georgie you cannot have twelve to your birthday party
…six only.

What a lovely Christmas we all had,
Hark the Herald Angels sing…
So much fun and laughter in this old house,
Such a character our Georgie,
Keeps us on our toes
And always laughing.
How I love this old house…
So many happy, happy memories.

Thank you Father!
The blessings are many,
The circle never ends.

Goodness...I felt like I was watching one of those old home movies, all crackled in places and sometimes with the camera shaking.  It made me sad.

Thank you for reading, I actually don't consider this a sad piece at all, it's the continuation of a family who feel blessed, the positive far outweighs the negatives in most family circles if we did just think about it.

I appreciate you reading me.

And the circle of life continues.  Even today I am helping my 98 year old mother in law with some of the family tree from yet another limb...

a little confusing at times...but well worth the climb!

Thank you for this, Spirit!
