Drivers
Passengers
Well seated
It is Sunday
After noon
Though the sky is blue

It is a town
Where couples come
After their futures
What and whom
Had been determined
Long ago

Of course
There are still
No servants
Footmen
Or golden carriages

And from this side
Of the windscreens

No one
Particularly seems
Overjoyed

my first reply after reading 5 times.

Life can't be sooooooo boring, can it? or soomething else as my dull brain entirely missed.

a wedding? not overjoyed, why? the mismatch?
a funeral? one would not use the word of joy.
lost...

or the trafic light is dead suddenly.

and the tilte is changed too!! so soon!

Is it a funeral? It sounds like one. There is the long drawn out cortege painted in your poem. But perhaps that was not oyur intention at all.

a good commitee can decimate communication.
