dreams push themselves to their feet
their words, swimming, like depths of oceans
expressions, mysteriously opening doors
“Is this a manifestation of God?” I ponder?

Who sent the assassin, with muffled curses?

Moving to guard doorways
I hear running
foot steps
coming closer
closer
closer
still

I smell stench of death...
where is God?
and the one face that remains,
is stolen away
feeling like an injustice
nothing but black space
in someone’s mind
a picture of familiarity
draws an invisible spot

while….

(WAM)
The runner knocks me over

eyes wide with horror,
I grobble thru blackness
fingers wet with
what I imagined to be
red black
liquid
oozing from
the body of pain’s eagerness
holding a first class ticket...
mine

“I can’t go”, I kick and scream,
“I’m not dressed for the occasion!”
horror invades my libido,
shouting spit in my face...
“You desperate fool”
ha ha ha ha ha’s
trailing off in the distance...
stumbling back...
lost in a depth of dark hollows
bracing
for
the
explosion
of diminishing
I ride the wind
backwards...

falling
             falling
                           falling

inevitable
prickly moments
grab my being
like frozen laughter
in self delusion
debating my small
one percent of the world
taking that one
instant of stillness

“Why can’t anyone hear me”???  I scream
"Death is building colonies!"
falling upon history of wars &
any peace accomplished
is this
the final
battle of my life?

am I merely looking
out through windows
blackened with
eons of dark space?
nothingness?

gasping for breath,
the runner’s face twists
desperately around
through a haze
of impatience
I gasp and recognize him
"OH GOD” I scream...
feeling my spirit within
begin to
lift
then leave..

disfigured & drawn,
the face of the runner
moves his eyebrows high
into the width of his forehead
as if to remind me
my heart was in “His” hands…
rummaging through
the widescreen of my
entire life

“I’m sorry,
I’m sorry,
I know I haven’t”
and the words
stopped,
dripping
slowly
down
my
mouth
freezing
like concrete…

“I’m gone”, I thought, “gone”,
as blood
gushes from my forehead
feeling any light
still left
strangled by
dark circles wrapped around
murmurs of
uncertainty…
"is this the final battle?”
“Is this death taking me home
or
that spot of human touch
sliding down
into some forgotten
pit of betrayal?”

suddenly
in a lift of anger
a last desperate attempt
I can feel pain
cut right through my soul
faint memory risks
one
more
sound
of meaning

and I hear echoes
as if coming from
another channel in time
moving closer
my ears strain...to hear...

“What”
I scream
again and again...
"I'm over here"
frantically
the voice entered
like a plunge
into the brain
“know the truth!"
"know the truth!"
louder & louder
it explained
again & again
it murmurs...
“know the truth”

It was all
I had left,
something that mattered
something worth
remembering

responding to thought
glistening amazement
entered my wanna be life
wishing for a cause
insane &
carefully
lettered cause

the voice now stronger
then ever
beating
beating
like a heart
tha thump, tha thump
I hear those words
waving like the American flag
in mid air
gushing through
like early spring flowers

those 3 little words
that sends human souls
back to their home

"I love you..."

I’ll come back to you…

Open your eyes
oh please open your eyes

and I did
all that I had imagined
disappeared…
sucked out through a void
like a giant thirsty straw

in it’s place
was a full moon of faith
like a humming neon light
striding haply across the sky
proud
loud
and clear

I knew
the face of that runner
it was my anima
my spiritual
male side of self
talisman of suggestion
lashing out
daggers
of fear

but now
night breeze
on a cool evening
changes life
in an instant
like
pudding

thick
and delicious

once again
dreams push
themselves
to their feet
their words
swimming
like depths of oceans
expressions
mysteriously opening doors

“Is this a manifestation of God?”

Sheesh
I will no longer ponder
nor will I ask again
with such severe emotion

(wink)

LeeJ,
This was masterful, picturesque and absolutely powerful.
The fear, the confusion and the senses filled with nightmare and a vital awakening.
I love your writes!

Saved faster than you can say, "Oh, my God!!!"

“I’m not dressed for the occasion!”
The yin and yang of it all
Powerful indeed!
I love it

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Love your writing!!
As always your mind is exquisite.
And you never cease to amaze me…

BUT, now I'm gonna have nightmares!

LeeJ

You are the digger ...into layers of self that I would be afraid of, yet...you are powerful in your forge ahead...I admire that!  Great poem of self discovery!!

And so LeeJ,you too are a dreamer,eh? They terrify but teach well the lesson they are sent to teach, sometimes far too well.
