Grass

I love the scent of new mown grass
It lights past moment’s hourglass
It makes me sigh in shavings lie
That lifts me to an azure sky

To drink the magic mornings dew
To reverie a host of you
To vision butterflies in flight
Touch a fantasies bright light

It is a pleasure of my day
To play the knight and come your way
To tip my lance and ask perchance
Be there a boon I can advance

Or garland you some poetry
A grassland bed for you and me
To look into each others eyes
And grab the ring of heavens prize

I’d turn this wile into a dare,
If you would be my lady fair?

So, do we have good Lancelot
on this fair and beautiful day?
Or has our favored Quixote
come hither, for dragons to slay?

Oh, sir, what a beautiful and lovely poem.
love this "garland you some poetry".

"To play the knight and come your way"...what kind of car does the knight drive? (RR?)

"A grassland bed for you and me"...what type of grass? some are not soft at all.

Ha ha ha

May You have a wonderful day, sir.

I will, I will!
I also love the scent of new mown grass ... and your absolutely enchanting poem brought me right there to the meadow.

Dear Seymour knight, this is a keeper.

Love and hugs.

Oh, and good morning to you Sir Sigh!

"I’d turn this wile into a dare,
If you would be my lady fair?"

~ A delightfully delicious invitation!
I can well-imagine all your lady admirers lining up! ~ including a certain 'Earth Angel'!

Aw, shucks. I just fell back to earth when I realized that this was simply your 'sonneteering' way.   lol

Loveya, T-Man!

Sey,

I always feel that smell is the one sense that has total control of the memory, the smell of hay always takes me back to my childhood and opens memory links so strongly that I feel I am actually there!

This is a delightful read and forces the sense of smell into your words thus completing the chain.

I must admit I did not know what to expect on reading the title though....

I still prefer the smell of hay to the smell of grass (LOL)....

Ivor

The smell of hay and the smell of grass are
quite different and would have different effects. Thanks for the read and comment.
