Inner Sight

I saw a poet walking
when out the other day,
and I never even heard a word
that he had got to say.
It showed in every move he made
it shone out from his heart,
there's something in a poet's way
that sets them all apart.

When looking at all people
don't be fooled by rags or clothes
or even by the wrinkles
or the way they hold their nose,
but try a little trick of mine
and look into their mind,
for even with your eyes shut
you'll be amazed by what you find.

Your sense of smell,
and sight, and touch
are not your only tools,
for there’s a link
between our minds
that people seldom use.
This complements your senses
and helps you on your way,
so take a 'look' around with this
when walking out today.

It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

Ivor ~

A treat to be reading your poetry, once again! You have been missed, Dear Poet!

You impart these mots of wisdom in such a light and lyrical manner.

Giving you a big ole hug-o-love,

Linda

I am a poet...I feel the callus of the earth...I foat on the tidal currents of the smallest breeze....I lie down naked with the sun's rays....I rip the cover off of the old and find the patina of any grace...I am a poet

Now see what you made me do....thank you!

to recognize anothers soul, is a true gift.  I feel as though that is what you described, and it touched me.
