Came in tonight looking for relaxation and not only was I ultimately relaxed, but filled with giggles, soft-warmies and genuine pleasure after reading numerous "shoe" tales.  Wonderful the way so many rose to the challenge about shoes...

I couldn't think of any new stuff so had to resort to a couple of old shoe's (tales) which may or may not work in the challenge...hope you don't mind has beens.

Happy Easter All!

It’s Just A Shoe

It’s just a shoe I saw
on the living room floor,
black sequined,
high heeled,
laying on it’s side
where she’d kicked it off
as she stumbled in the door.
We’d danced and played
late into the night
and finally came home,
slightly high,
giggling, shssshing,
as we tried not
to wake the kids,
and giggling again,
as that sparkling shoe
bounced off the lamp
to land in the middle of the room.
She’s sleeping now,
this wife of mine,
though mornings come
and the sun is kissing her cheek.
I sip my coffee
and smile in thought…
It’s just a shoe,
I think again,
but how I love that woman,
who puts it on her feet.

Soft Soled Slipper Shoes

Soft soled slipper shoes
with puppy dog toes,
slightly pink and satin white,
and a silky nose that glows;
two little feet tucked inside
warm, comfy, hidden from the cold,
three-foot high rabbit p-jays
holding my child inside.
Big blue eyes, soft and shiny,
pixie nose, rosy cheeks,
puckered lips, starting to smile,
sits on my lap holding a book,
come on daddy, read a while.
Held in arms loving and strong,
carried to bed in slumber land,
gently placed, tucked in tight
loving this child with all my might,
sleep my heart, till the sun shines bright.

Hi Jimmy... it's really good to see your poetry...love these too...so much tenderness and love is folded within your words...can't ask much more when you're talking of shoes.
