The ties that bind grow slowly tired
and sink into desire
a-simmer so behind the scenes
of life’s true manner and means ~
and there within this tumble, turn,
ends fray into a tangled mess
and leak the goodness out
into the heat and steam.

Rise, rise, rise!  Ties of desire
rise up into the air
a-travel on an unknown path
into a lover’s song.

Oh, sing, sing, sing, like unto a child
this heavenly lullaby
and twist the strings into denial
of humanity’s desires ~
but, oh, oh, oh, I could choose
to veer off into ignorance.

And ignorance ignores the ties,
burns desire to a crust,
and leaves upon the soul
a residue of loss.

And a residue of loss?
No man can know the cost!

Thanks for the read and the hugs, Martie, and Terry - thank you and, yes, on a re-read it does seem rather powerful but ... drastic situations requre drastic action.
