One thing I seek and hope to find
Like liquid light, like sunlit water
The essence of joy and fragrance of life
To swim, to bathe, in fullest delight
Dissolving in bliss mid the deep-running river
All one thing within and without
And lost in waves of thick-teeming splendor
To soar over land and sky, ever infilled
And dripping with dew-dappled sunstreams,
‘Neath a wide ocean of star-brilliant air
Pour down upon me, O new golden shower
Penetrate my soul with the freshness of life
Flame forth, O mighty Pentecostal fire
For I am not drunk as you may suppose
But have found the live and beating heart of light
