red brown henna
paints our life story
on your delicate hands

art of your clay
memorializes more than
some might know

thumb speaks of scrim
covering a peaceful face
a lost child
hiding in the wind

imagination brings out
the dark hair, no longer gray
somehow, the imprint of
sparkle covets your eye

and there at the sweet wrist
matrices of found things
whisper red memories
to wipe on lips

your creation
from dust to clay,
tender endowment of love's caress
rims the lines of your sweet palm
that the child finds herself
again...

so that when you find me again,
waiting
for red henna to paint our life story
I shall arise and murmur

things that only the wind
shall hear.

There is beauty in the clay and the whispers in the wind -- they reached me.

Well there was no doubt in my mind that I would adore this, and I was correct...I did, and I do.  Ladies, take a bow.  Lovely dueting from two of my favorite dueters. Hugs ya'll.

Your voices blend so beautifully..
A most excellent duet..
with an awesome ending.

Well done by two of Passion's finest!

It was a lovely Sunday evening
when the wind blew across
my screen
visions of red skies
blowing dust, left behind, for
a fingernail to sketch an imprint
across planes with a friend
for a duet...

we'll do it again soon, yes?

Thank you, Kate!

Dear friends, I feel you here, like hot mocha and cold beer...so refreshing to read two of my favorites poets together.  (no no no...I didn't mean that you drink beer and mocha at the same time..LOL)

Thank you all so much

Moonkist... there is something so binding
about henna painting
so sister making

and Martie
mocha and beer may be exactly right...

one sweet and warm... one cold and sharp...

And after reading this I murmured.... WOW!

"matrices of found things"

Yes indeed there are plenty of "found" treasures embedded in this duet offering!

Beautiful ... enjoyed!

This is just breathtakingly beautiful. So well crafted by two artists who excel at creating the masterful. So very moving, it just exudes that rare understanding between two people. Wonderful writing, ladies.

Our thanks again, and another nod to The Lady...my muse has been quiet, but you inspired me.  One day soon, I hope to duet again with you.
