Fabric of Denial
By Paul Wilson

Thin fabric covers my being
allows me to see out without reveling the real me
Two sides to the coin of chance
revelations expectations no one can see

Explore beneath the surface if you dare
visions covered within the fabric of skin
Light of eternity shines just out of sight
pathway littered with secrets and sin

Jester hides behind mask of smile
hiding frown from eyes of pry
Raise the shroud release your heart
tell tears of yesterday goodbye

Mirror reflects the outer you that all see
as the real you hides beneath the skin
Face of a fool looking back in denial
refusing to face the truth again

I try to break the chains
that hold me in their grasp
Remove doubt and fabric of denial
open up the wound release the clasp

Marble’s in ring of dirt
shattered by the king of lag
Fractured by contact
pieces of mind put in a bag

Depression is a fabric of denial
built by us with the mind
Tear it down one day at a time
beneath fabric of denial happiness you will find

"Depression is a wall of wonder
built tall and strong by the mind
Tear it down one day at a time
beneath fabric of denial happiness you will find"

Great write and good advice.

Man, you are so fulla riddles these days! and I'm giggling here--thinking, don't open my closet Paullie-sweets--there's enough scraps of denial in there to keep a few hundred quilting bees going!

You are delight, I love to read you as you continue to grow in your craft. Clever little metaphor here, denial as the cover up and comforter too!

Stay sweet mah lil praline!

JL...Thank you my friend...Paul

Dixie...Glad you liked this. Thanks for the read...Paul

Serenity...Your reply brings laughter to my heart as well as gratitude for being one of my teachers in this new world I have found.
I don't know much about metaphor's, maybe you could splain them to me, and hopefully I can learn. Keep that closet of your locked girlie. Thanks for all you do...Paul

The Lady...Thank you dear lady for taking time to read and reply. Nuch appreciated...Paul
