Winds Of Time
By Paul Wilson

Step softly upon the sacred ground of our fore fathers
trace their foot steps back… back into times of hardship and strife
Look within yesterdays searching for signs they left behind
relive the days when brave warriors in battle lost their life

Storm clouds gather as great chiefs meet with white eyes to smoke pipe
while others wait patiently for signal carried on winds
Promises made will be broken before the next moon comes
wives and children run like buffalo before slaughter begins

The sun slowly rises upon the field of red today
mothers and wives cry for loved ones lost… their spirit now free
A new chief leads his people west beyond the great mountains
away from their homeland that sadly they were forced to flee

Across the great desert where foot prints still remain today
spirits float upon winds of time forever and a day
Give us our land so we can live in peace and harmony
a nation of people searching for their homeland now pray

Eagle carries hopes and dreams across rivers and canyons
tomorrows rains may wash away tears but not their spirit
Three more moons will rise before they reach their destination
pride, strength, honor and determination won’t let them quit

Winds of time for eternity safely carry spirits
keepers of the buffalo, eagle, bear, fish and the deer
Give us our lands let us be free is all we ask of you
no more tears shed or battles fought…our future is now clear
