Once From The Shadows

When I make a place for you
The calling will be unmistakable
For your hand upon mine will unveil the bark
Husk the oaken colored walls into welcoming words
Light the candles near the mantle, where my soul at home lay

When you enter there to smile
The fire will burn warm and willing
Day and night, infinite per diem, brighter and fainter
Your arms will encircle my shoulders, and mine your waist
Where precious things make charmed wainscot and cornices

When I trace that place with thought
Cupped into your hands will beat my heart
Stirring the pleasures of a bubbled bath for two
Drying by the fire, eyes dancing in the sharing of the day
Light the candles near the mantle, where my soul at home lay

When I make a place for you
Carved into the pines of summer and snowfall
We will walk out into the morning
Returning in the evening, full with inner peace
Where precious things make charmed wainscot and cornices

When you enter there to smile
As past prepared us once from the shadows
For your hand upon mine will unveil the bark
Day and night, infinite per diem, brighter and fainter
Light the candles near the mantle, where my soul at home lay

Try as I might, I will never
ever, write love
as you do.

I curtsey,
acknowledge, and claim you,
to be the Poetess of love's song.

"Where precious things make charmed wainscot and cornices"

The imagery in this piece is oh so rich ... "unveil the bark ... Husk the oaken colored walls ... "

Beautiful read.  Enjoyed.
