Iced Serenity, #2

They say, the bigger picture is worth….
whatever [is in your heart]
ah, but to me and my heart, yet, and is there
a stilled moment, priceless
and your eyes would have to be young to see the life in
the right middle corner
of all that is passing
on flight, they are, be it duck, geese, starlings,
poets on wing
all in search of life.

And the rose?
The rose came from the sky, and glistened here on earth,
the curveways in the ice are but
another road for me to follow
or fall through, and if the cold doesn’t shock me,
then the after life of bliss shall,
because in the ice, I see the glints of light, some sidestepped, some
a preference of faith, step by step…
toward the wall of yet another side.

Why do you write?
I write…
because somewhere within this soul is a song,
no matter the adversity, the thorned bird sings…
but I pluck each thorn,
bleed a little, and with faith,
what it is, repair the
scattered mess of my life,
winged mess that it is.

I sing in write, not because I can,
but because it might lift you.

~*~

For the love of poets, and special loves, priceless.

Thank you, SIL, for writing this.  I was deeply touched, especially by:

"The rose came from the sky, and glistened here on earth,
the curveways in the ice are but
another road for me to follow
or fall through, and if the cold doesn’t shock me,
then the after life of bliss shall,
because in the ice, I see the glints of light, some sidestepped, some

toward the wall of yet another side."

My very own SIL...you know I don't respond often on my own poetry, but...

if what was said left a hole of warm?

Then all is good.

No, I haven't forgotten anything you have ever said!

Why do I write? It's more than meer song...it's music from the soul.

Oh Sunshine

"somewhere within this soul is a song"

And we all hear you sing
with words and with so much heart.

Beautiful reflection, Sissie...

"no matter the adversity, the thorned bird sings…"  I'm sure it does.
