A Big Secret

Vivie has a secret that
she just divulged to me.
That's Vivian Rose who came to us
from far across the sea.
You remember when we got her?
I was so proud and boasting.
Vivie is the proud one now
and says she will be hosting
a party for baby sister
coming the old fashioned way.
Vivie has us all excited.
We can hardly wait the day
that her sister (my great-grand baby)
comes home with her to stay.
She arrives in January
and if there is a storm
we'll have some pink and fluffy things
prepared to keep her warm.
Vivian Rose is six years old
and bigger than she was
when she came to us from China
and created such a buzz.
Her almond shaped eyes are snapping
as she tells about the one,
whom she hopes can share her little room
so they'll have lots of fun
sharing toys and puzzles
and telling secrets too
and giggling together
as only sisters do.

Hannah says, "I'd like to have
a baby sister too".
Vivie answers, "Don't worry Cousin,
I'll share my own with you".
