Life is more than just schedules,
Passing forty plus hours in a job-
That is hardly what would be your dream,
But just like the rest, you slave away your time,
Because you know that your advice and dreams
On paper are not even worth a dime,

So you train yourself,
Go to school and get that diploma,
Now many of us choose to go for four more,
Five, six or even seven, but we get another-
You guessed it, a diploma,

Now you are officially out of school,
Taking your first job, and you thinking to yourself,
That corporate ladder doesn’t look quite that tall,
Month in and month out, deadlines you meet,
Hoping that you’re no good boss will recognize your feats,

Oh, somewhere down this corporate line, you decide
To try out a family life, get married, have a couple of kids,
One now a days, for two little one require extra overtime,
So you smile in and smile out of life that you never dreamed of,
But in the end you realize, hey my kids will have it better of,

Just reach the big 60, hang in tight,
Few more years before you cash in,
Wait, what do you mean that there is no money left?
I slaved away 40 years to get nothing back?
This is outrageous, and you think of all that you skipped,

Life is coming to an end, and you better start praying,
If there is heaven and hell, let’s hope there is no incentive to rush,
You’ll be locked in one or the other,
And there is no ladder to climb,
That’s if you end up in heaven first.

I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality.

Prose, All the way.  And this is good stuff, i'm starting to get into writing like this myself.  It's more expressive than a short poem, not as tiring as a story, and more organized than a free write. nice.

I want life in every word, to the extent that it's absurd.- The Postal Service
