Dark leaden skies abound cold bitter winds invade frozen words fly dangerously each an icicle thrust deep wounded sorely beyond repair the heart beats erratically stroking a mournful tune pleading for blessed respite “not to be,” says the wind, this storm is final testimony to the end of that world and the introduction to darkness abandon hope all who enter forget what used to be that was a dream lost in smoke this is the reality now lonely nights upon nights dreadful silence of the soul only the howl of the ghosts ringing in tortured ears welcome to the night the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
