Promised to live another day

...I think Im lost again...

Required to live another day
Promised not to take this life away
Swore into continuing this life
Hating each and every day
They come
They go
And yet they never really see

They say
I’ve got it easy
But how do they really know?
I know that I could do better
I hope that they see this in me
I know that I should try harder

And here I am
Stating all of this
Realizing what they say may just be right
I am required to continue living
Promised to stay here
Swore into continuing this life
And that’s the only reason I’m still here

So, I pray and find
That my king is by my side
That he will defend me
From the thoughts that come at night
I hope that all will see
That this is not the way out
Even when in pain there are more
Options than what we see

Required to live another day
Promised not to take this life away
Swore into continuing this life
Loving each and everyday
Finding that this is not
Quite as bad
As it all seemed

I think this verse was beautiful, we've certainly all been there before and I know I found a king to defend me, as you so wonderfully put it. Things will get better, just keep hoping.

I am a broken toy,
Of no use to anyone,
But if you fix me up,
I'm sure we'll have some fun.
