Just a girl trying to find her way down these roads
Struggling to break all of life’s codes
Changing everything from personality to appearance
She’s ready to know if she has clearance
Lately she worries consent and over analyzes her world
She’s been patiently waiting for her life to be unfurled
She thought it had been, way back in December
That’s when they meet, don’t you remember
What she didn’t realize is he was the reason,
Even though he could be charged with treason,
He pulled the string that was wrapped tightly
He didn’t pull it slow and lightly
Her world unfolded right before her eyes
Some days are hard but she tries
It all came so fast and without much warning
It all sank in yesterday morning
She discovered that this wasn’t the end
That her life would now ascend
No more sleepless nights with bloodshot eyes
He can keep all of his dirty lies
She’s so sick of her disguise
These will be her last goodbyes
She kissed away the mask she wore
Her real reflection reveals something more
There’s beauty within every breakdown
It’s more than tears and a frown
It’s a point in life that you become inspired
Then everything begins to transpire
So she changed her look, she cut her hair
She found out that life isn’t always fair
She keeps herself busy and tries not to think
If it becomes too much, she expresses herself with ink
She’s a new girl, different but very much the same
A young woman is what she has became
Stronger and wiser than she has ever been in the past
Her today and her a month ago will need to be contrast
Today you’ll see vulnerability and fear
& you’ll see her worries disappear
The walls are finally down because of him
This is very much a whim
It makes no sense to the human mind
You’ll noticed she’s been refined
& that her heart beats even though it aches
After all the beating that the heart takes
She’s finding herself along the way
Some days she might be astray
Sooner or later she find what she’s looking for
The feelings will be impossible to ignore
She’ll glow, and finally her heart will be healed
And her true feelings will be revealed
