My words are shards of ice,
Cutting everyone deeply.
My mouth speaks without consulting my mind,
Try so hard to be accepted,
But I’m constantly left behind.
Want to be loved for who I am,
But I have yet to find myself.
My happiness is secondary,
To everyone else’s.
Care too much about the façade I’ve created,
Stories of reality and truth leave me jaded,
I’m not a believer in anything,
Lies are leaving me suffocated.
A figment of my own imagination,
I wander through life as a shadow,
Surrounded by doubt.
One day I will become transparent,
Eyes will widen as I try to keep up with an endless act,
Just trying to seek out the facts.
All I ever wanted,
All I ever needed,
Will crash down around me,
The icicles of my words slowly puncturing my soul,
Misinterpretation surrounding every wound.
Constantly concerned with what other’s see,
Hoping I’m portraying the person they want me to be.
Exhaustion creeps around me,
A chilled blanket that makes comfort impossible.
Smothered by the pain I feel inside,
Thinking of all the thoughts I pointlessly tried to hide.
Searching for anything that will prevent this collision,
I try to run away,
My legs are frozen,
I’ve reached the wall I’ve been building all of my life.
It comes crashing down,
Drowning out my words,
The only ones that meant anything,
I loved you all,
You mean everything.

It is indeed a wonderful work of self-examination, but sometimes when we really want to be happy we have to step back from ourselves and find it in the ones we love.

Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told.

SarBear - I believe healing is looking at ones self, which you've done very well in this write. Wish you well...
