Mom is old-school
Eastern Europe.

She’s walking Bones
to his first day of school.

She’s taking along
her trusty cat-o-nine tails,
just in case Bones
should get troublesome.

Mom tells the teacher
to teach Bones well
and to tell her if Bones
gives her any trouble.

The teacher agrees.

She never sends
any nasty notes
home to Mom
about Bones.

Bobby

Thanks dear Juju,

For the question.

A cat-o-nine-tails is a leather whip, with nine long leather strips coming out of the handle.

It hurts to get hit with one.

I hear they are quite common in the brothels here in Nevada, Bobby, but, of course, I have no personal knowledge of such things.

I wonder how Bones managed to stay out of trouble and reporting---I'd like to go back in time and change my history! All kidding aside, I enjoyed the read.

Thanks Art,

The teacher never reported Bones because she didn't want hin to get a whipping.

Stay out of those brothels.  They are places where people are treated cruelly.  I stayed in one for a short time with my mother many years ago.  You don't need to support any of that.

Thanks Steavenr,

Yes, you're right, I think it is a Mom thing.

hi Bobby, I never loved school, when I was five, I escape from school and went home alone...And now I am a teacher, life can be silly...Thanks for the well inspired poem.

Thanks Yann,

I too hated grade school.  It wasn't until tenth grade, when I had this math teacher that didn't hate me.  Then I got all kind of schlorships.

I hope you are remembering what it was like, and that you are treating those kids good.

Thanks dear Margherita,

Her name was Irene Saucerman.  In many respects, she save my life.  If it wasn't for her encouragement, I'm sure I would have gone to prison.  That's where I was heading.

I remember she asked me what my father did, I told her "not much of anything".  That was it, she got me a schlorship for bright, fatherless children.

She was a Saint.

She wrote letters for me, and was instrumental in getting me a schlorship to the University of Pennsylvania.

Irene Saucerman, I'll never forget her.

Love Bobby

Good one Bobby, it just goes to show that when Mum enforces her discipline with the

cat-o-nine-tails nothing else is needed.
Wise Mum.

Thanks LindsayP,

Yes, that's true.  Bones was always good in school.

Mom was a very wise woman.
