He blew rings for me

wrote my name
on the sky

a marquise of mixed letters

with a cauldron of smoke
that rose from his mouth

his kiss of confetti
flavored with sea salt
and Benson & Hedges

it was south of the boardwalk
by the whirl of the carosel

at the ocean's reception

we were just turning 20.

Yo dear Inkedgoddess,

This is a lovely, lively poem.  I'm still twenty.

sweet, fun memory in a sweet and fun poem!  I wouldn't go back to 20 myself, though!

I love thinking back to those times when time was endless; and we can learn to be  there still.
However, blowing smoke has lost its charm over the years!
I enjoy your writing.

Hmmm, it's warm on this side of my screen.  Must be the fire from all that blowing - smoke.

20? Heck, I'll take forty! Ah, this is indeed a really fine poem, sweet and gently touching, and well crafted by the pen of the inkedgoddess.

Best wishes,

art

Michele - those were great times back then, miss them when I think of all those things I did over the years...

“He blew rings for me”

Are you sure that wasn’t just the smoke
from your fiery kiss Goddess?

My lips are blistering from here.
In a wonderful way of course.

Your words linger on my mouth Michelle
so sweetly.

"wrote my name

...reminds me of my father (when smoking was far cooler) and how he would amaze my with his 'sky-writing' abilities.  nice write...thanks for sharing...
