Silver moon was more resplendent
Nurtured by a loving friend
Moonlight touched the hearts of poets
When it tiptoed from her pen

Love became a greater passion
Hugs were warmer than before
Friendship poured in greater volume
From her wide and open door

She could tug at tender heartstrings
Of the hardy and the meek
She could wrench a tender tear
From deepest wells onto a cheek

She could paint the pride of heritage
In colorful displays
And the greatest joys of friendship
She could sweep into a phrase

But when I remember Margie
I believe I will recall
The concern and pure compassion
She dispersed to one and all

In the darkest of our seasons
She was always standing near
Waiting patiently and lovingly
To catch a falling tear

And the moon was more resplendent
Nurtured by a faithful friend
Moonlight touched the hearts of poets
When it tiptoed from her pen

I love you, Marge
Liz

Liz, I have been looking for a poem from you for Marge. I just knew that you would write one ~ and here it is! ~ and it is beyond lovely. It is a mingling of graces ~ your's and Marge's.

Liz, these words were truly Marge:

"But when I remember Margie
I believe I will recall
The concern and pure compassion
She dispersed to one and all

In the darkest of our seasons
She was always standing near
Waiting patiently and lovingly
To catch a falling tear

And the moon was more resplendent
Nurtured by a faithful friend
Moonlight touched the hearts of poets
When it tiptoed from her pen"

As we can count on the moon every night, so could we count on Marge. A very beautiful tribute.

Aw, so perfect a tribute, Liz.
She did:  'catch many a falling tear.'

Now, we need someone to catch ours
over her...sigh

Oh Liz, thank you for your beautiful words. Always love your style of writing. Marge had a heart as big as the world, in which we all had our own place and space.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Elizabeth, this is absolutely beautiful. And, so true. Marge deeply touched my heart.
I will always and forever remember the inspiration I got from Marge. I miss her so much.

Just so you know, I want to tell you now. You, my dear Elizabeth have touched my heart, too. And, you have also been a great inspiration to me. I love your poetry.

Dear Liz, the first poem I read after a three week spell is your beautiful tribute to Marge and what a heart touching poem it is. You wrote it with sincere compassion, appreciated by us all. I take my hat off to you dear lady, it was wonderful.  Love

You know I was waiting for just the right poem to put behind Marge's picture in my memory book, and should have known it would be you capture her Liz.  I just can not write for some reason these days, but appreciate the work of those that do.

This dear lady, is a perfect picture poem of Marge.  I still am in a bit of shock over this to be honest, and forget each day she is no longer here.
