It’s Inauguration Eve,
and Bones is out on the Avenue,
doing what he does.

Madam Queen’s
driving down the Avenue,
she picks Bones up.

“Hi kid,
I’ve watched you work,
I know what you’re up to.
I’d like you to meet
some friends of mine.”

Madam Queen takes Bones
to her brothel up the Avenue.

The front room is crowded
with pretty ladies.
They are all glad to meet Bones.
They treat him like an old friend.

They tell him
he’s the cutest thing
they have ever
come across.

Bones likes the ladies a lot.

Madam Queen takes Bones
to room 14,
she tells him to wait there,
one of the ladies
wants to know him better,
and the nice lady
will knock on his door
in a few minutes.

Bones sits in room 14,
a gentle rap on the door,
and Bones opens it.

There’s no nice lady
there at all.

Two big guys barge in,
and start beating Bones up.

When the big guys leave,
they lock the door behind them.

Bones will never be free again.

He will never see Mom
or any of his friends again.

Bobby

Thanks dear Ida,

Well, Bones and I just felt like working our man Barack in there, and it is that time.

I'm pleased you're reading and commenting.

Thanks Yann,

Don't forget, Bones is a tough guy, he can take it.

Also, Madam Queen would never do anything to hurt Bones.  I remember her as a kind lady that was always nice to me as a kid.

Man this one's really dark Bobby.

We all need Bones to be out of there and continuing through the experiences.

Thanks Eric,

Yes, I suppose this one is a little dark.

Madame Queen was always a too friendly, scary person.  I never trusted her, and always stayed away.

Thanks Sarah 45,

Madame queen was an evil person that acted friendly.  She had one of my cousins in her clutches.  I don't like to think about it.  That's about sixty years ago.  Nothing can be done.

Thanks dear RDB,

I'll let Bones know you're thinking about him.

Bones got away from there.  Madame Queen was not a good person.  She was not to be trusted.

bobby, how does queen stay in business. i don't see bones and others like him as repeaters...my 2810 is an independent that thrives on repeaters. some of her johns have been with her for over 22 years. she is 39 and started as a freelancer at the age of 17. i have been away for sometime and am missing some the poetry story line. could you "bring me up to snuff".

Yo R V Wooo,

I'm afraid you have fallen behind in the Bones series.

Bones is a young male prostitute.  Madame Queen is after making him part of her stable.  It's a rrough business.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

That is one of the most abusive businesses out there...

Thanks dear Juju,

Yes, prostitution is a horrible business.  Madam Queen was an evil person.

Bones was raped when he was five, and the person that did it paid off his care givers.  The bad person that did that to Bones is long dead.  Bones never got revenge, and that's probably a very good thing.

Quite a reversal of events you've got there, Bobby. I like how you can evoke so much with minimalist detail. For example, by just adding the number of the room (and not forcing it into 13...)and mentioning the avenue, I can close my eyes and see the setting (for me, somewhere in New York.) Every time I read the poetry, I feel like reading Baldwin's novels again, esp. Go Tell It On the Mountain

Thanks Mark,

I'm very pleased that you can see it.  It's set right here in my beloved city of Philadelphia, and the Avenue is Kensington Avenue, right here in the Port Richmond neighborhood.

Thanks for the kind words.  Bones says hello.

Well, if I ever go to Philadelphia, I'll surely go have a walk there Your nonetheless take the reader some places, I could name many cities where your story fits. For me, that's the magic in your writing. Mark

Thanks Mark,

You would always be welcome on Kensington Avenue.  It's an interesting, and friendly place.
