I wrote this for my mom several years ago, and have since lost her. Once our parents are gone,
we have our own forevers to miss them.  Please spend some time this weekend with your mom if you can.
Visit her - call her - hug her - embrace her. She's one of a kind.  Happy Mother's Day to all!

My mother, Doris Anderson LeBoeuf, my grandmother, Ellen Tuominen Anderson, and
my great-grandmother's picture hanging on the wall behind them.

In days bygone when I was but a child,
Long past yet thoughts of simpler times remain;
Of how your loving touch healed youthful pain.
Vanquished all fears because you kindly smiled,
Embracing hearts of innocence beguiled,
Your sunny ways quelled heartache's falling rain;
Or helped me stand to face the world again,
Unselfish with firm hand yet ever mild.

Mom's love becomes our sweetest memory
Of times in life that only two can share.
Today I too have watched my children grow;
How quickly years surpass we fail to see.
Each moment spent with precious ones in care
Reminds me of our days not long ago

Nan, this is so beautiful. The picture is heartwarming as well. So many sentiments captured with pure love. What a lovely gift to have given her in this writing. What a lovely gift to still give her "and" yourself to read it and remember.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Nan, this is an absolutely beautiful accrostic Mothers Day poem. You are one of my favorite poets. Happy Mothers Day to you, my friend.

I know the love that a child has for his mother.  I too am grateful for the love that I was given.  Thank you for sharing this poem with us.
