the child side of the man of me, it was
that realized about love stories
that the only good ones have requirements
for one of the lovers to be alone
most of their love time at least

either at their emptiest beginnings
with an insatiable instinct to be filled
so they search through their cactus pillows
for dreams that can make their skin wet
with the saliva sooth from  another dessert

or at the end of their heart lines
when they look back through the winds
and see only those distant memories
of something pulled away from their souls
and set adrift on the ocean of lonely

it is then, when the story is written
and the pen is the weeping of love blood
that stains the sheets of unmade parchment
and spills like melted mouths without kisses
over the eyes of a voyeur with blinded eyes

and the sound of love is but an echoed vapor

Such deeply captivating imagery with profound meaning, dear D.!

You could easily teach LOVE and POETRY ... with your mastery in both fields.

Love,
Margherita

Ever so sensuously beautiful.  Your words flow like a teasing touch.

Looking back through the winds, all the cherry blossoms lie in the weeds of the back yard or line the curbs, but the spindle down is a pink snow storm.

You catch the drift expertly on the "cactus pillows!"  ~KL

the only good ones have requirements
for one of the lovers to be alone
most of their love time at least

And so you set the scene for hearts to twist, for mirrors to reflect, for tears to well at truth's telling... I love all of your work, D... but this is one of your best!
