We’re all here today and so lucky to be
A part of this country down under and free
Among all our friends that have Aussie at heart
Together all sharing, while doing our part

Today we all carry a thanks for our past
For those that built courage and spirit to last
Who gave generations of Aussies their home
Who through their endurance a future had shown

Today we’re all here to show we have pride
To smile and to gesture to those by our side
To watch the flag raised and sing all as one
The song of our nation, to hearts it has won

We think of the years that have passed like a blink
Of the past and the future that time seems to link
Of the good of those Aussies endorsing our name
While trying our best and doing the same

We all have a calling and things we must do
That builds on our stature with each day that’s new
And though just today we take to rejoice
We echo our love everyday with our voice

And people that know us do envy us so
For what they are fearful this place doesn’t know
And for that we are lucky, now wouldn’t you say
To live and to love this Australian way

So thanks to the brave ones who founded our shore
Who stayed and who built what we reap evermore
Thanks to this land that is strong and stays true
And thanks to our maker for all we can do

Be thankful we’re here and for all that we’ve got
That our children have futures on this special spot
That luck gave its blessing so we could be here
That we remain Aussies with each coming year

Sometimes we take our ghood fortune for granted......This is a great reminder of thankfulness we should remember.

I'd love to visit your country. Just haven't had the time nor money....Mostly the latter......LOL!

Wonderful rugged country with such a range of temperatures and varieties of marvelous species of critters.

EXCEPT THOSE SOURCE SPIDERS.....!

Hang in there!

Not only a great tribute to a wonderful country, the poem is brilliant for it's meter and construction. I salute you, sir!

Australai may be an excellent...but those women? I have chronicled my views of them, which shed true light on the ladies down under
