My mind goes a hundred miles per hour
In a body that forever remains stationary
Feels like a breath inhaled, waiting
The tension mounting with every pulse
Of electric signals that course within
To try to explain this would be impossible
A dream inside of a thought in my head
Not so much visions, as feelings felt
In terms visceral and concrete
Both converging into ideas and words
That need to escape to feed or die
Before withering on the vine
Tossed upon the heap of forget
To be burned to smoldering ash
Dead, persistent babbling shouts
Need to find the voice to let them out
Completely in, completely out of sight
Bite my lip and wish it away now
Scratch the itch that glows a dull red
Inside my head a hundred miles per hour

The flow of this matches the content!
Whenever I have a mind-racing episode I close my eyes and meditate for a moment, breathe in the moment...and hope it quiets my thoughts.

Thank you, for reading and commenting on my posts. NFL, eh? Have you reached the 'ripe' stage of being the official Armchair Quarterback now?

"Dead, persistent babbling shouts

~ At least your poetic pen can do the speaking for you!

btw, I do what Kacy does!

Calm, cool, and collected (on a good day! lol)

You've achieved the impossible, then. *S* I lost my breath in the read!! Most excellent!
