they were moments lined up at the curb
like limousines waiting to harvest magical
and carry some nearly forgotten day dreams
into something long sleeved with easy buttons

did it fit you funny like it did me
the uncharacteristic wondering about next
and other names for minutes ahead of us
as we traveled the slow lane more quickly

and then a stop light that we had brought along
rolled onto the dashboard of maybe today
just to give us time to read some name tags
on the proper places of things we wanted to

did you hate the waking up at night's middle
and looking around for missing directions
when there were no signs allowed beyond
the points we had already passed on purpose

when they were but moments lined up curbless

And, sometimes, you leave me speechless.

Ah, I so love your poetic mind, dear D.! You take us always on new paths and visions, where we are free to set our own pace and emotions.

Love,
Margherita
