Star of the Evening, so beautifully tranquil; sailing the Western sky, pale and serene.
How many soft wishes of lovers, have you heard?
How many sweet promises made, have you seen?
Star of the Evening, eternally drifting,
caressing the clouds with your bright, flawless light;
holding back dusk, in the soft, golden sunset,
watching over the lovers far into the night.

Star of the Evening; a far-distant planet; a milky-white orb in the heavens above;
I wonder, do lovers who gaze at you, nightly
know of you, as Venus; The Goddess of Love?
Star of the Evening... I gaze up, and wonder
does She watch you, in the paling twilight?
if you could, but whisper the thoughts of my heart.
that I cast on the winds that sigh into the night.

Star of the Evening; undimmed by the moonbeams that wash the Cathedrals of clouds in the night;
if She is there; please caress her, by proxy
in place of my gentle touch... with soft starlight.
Star of the Evening; how aptly romantic;
how perfectly fitting, thus named, you should be;
the Celestial touchstone of love, hope, and longing;
a refuge for hopeless romantics like me.

Star of the Evening; I gaze, and I wonder how many down here, will wish on you tonight?
perhaps, if I join them, invoking your magic; my wish may touch her
in the fading twilight.
Star of the Evening, I hope you can hear me;
to wish on a star; this romantic ideal;
a small touch of magic from out of our childhood;
a tiny hope... perhaps, it might just be real.

This is a truly romantic and beautiful poem.
The kind of romantic writing that even I appreciate.
