A tiny light fairy
dances on the dark surface
of my disapointment.
Her name is Hope.
The dance ends,
she bows
and whispers...
Maybe next time.

It's been said that "the worst
'death' is the loss of hope" ...

may it 'spring eternal'!

nice 'write'!!

Dear Ida, I have never read a poem on disappointment that was penned as enchantingly as this one.

And even when we fear there won't be a next time, we're blessed to have had hope visit... however brief the dance. *S*

This touches me deeply... I'm saving it in my library. *S*

M: My father said "maybe next time" a lot during the year before his passing. The phrase actually brings me comfort now.
I love the image of the light fairy, thanks!

That's the feeling I got when I was looking at the new Corvette.

Maybe before I die.

Maybe next time.

I wish I'd written this.
